Rustic. Authentic. Food & Wine. Invercargill’s local.

Redefining Southern hospitality, Louie’s is where locals go to dine in secluded sophistication.

For a small town, Louie’s has all the markings of an alternative laneway bar: an unmarked entrance, cosy booths, experimental tunes, and long western sunsets pouring into a hidden ivy courtyard. Even after twenty years, the locals are enamoured with the place. It’s an institution.

Serving bold game dishes, freshly caught blue cod, and seasonal delicacies, the 40 seats fill up awfully quickly after work, so book ahead or settle in at the bar for an evening of exceptional hospitality.

“Louie’s is an Invercargill institution. When you step off Invercargill’s busy main street and into this dimly lit enclave, you’ll understand pretty quickly why locals and visitors both make a point to eat here.”
